With the rising cost of living, the influx of illegal immigrants, and decades of failed liberal policies, it’s no wonder that so many middle class Californians are leaving in droves.
On nearly every level, Democratic leadership has caused crisis after crisis in a state renowned for its natural beauty, but not much else.
California’s state and local debt totals $1.3 trillion, and the homeless population in Los Angeles alone surged 75% in six years.
There are now at least 58,000 homeless people in LA, 5,000 of whom are children. It’s an absolute epidemic.
But instead of choosing to focus on the dire problems directly in front of them, the state is instead choosing to focus on a totally fictional problem, one that liberals just can’t seem to let go of.
From Fox News:
“Officials in Los Angeles have been painting streets white to reduce the effect of urban ‘heat islands’ and combat the effects of climate change.
The LA Street Services began rolling out the project last May, which preliminary testing shows has reduced the temperature of roadways by up to 10 degrees.
The project involves applying a light gray coating of the product CoolSeal, made by the company GuardTop.”
But the CoolSeal coating doesn’t come cheap: this water-based paint being spread all over the city costs a staggering $40,000 per mile!
This seems like a profound waste of money, considering that climate change, like California’s fiscal sense, is a complete fiction.
Is a mere ten-degree difference worth such a hefty price tag, especially while scores of destitute people are living in cardboard boxes all over the city?
Not to mention that Los Angeles has the largest municipal street system in the nation.
There are over 7,300 miles of roads and alleys in LA, which brings the estimated cost of this project to battle climate change up to a whopping $292 BILLION dollars.
With a price tag that high, the city may as well paint their streets in gold. 😉
